The use of social media has become an integral part of daily life in modern technology, especially for the younger generation. Social media is not only a tool for communication but can also provide entertainment and information. However, there are concerns about the impact of social media use on an individual's emotional health, particularly for students who are often exposed to social and academic pressures. The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of social media use by the Muslim students at Universiti Is-lam Selangor on their emotional well-being. A survey was conducted on 120 students us-ing a quantitative approach. Questions regarding the frequency of social media use, the types of platforms used, and the emotional effects experienced after using social media were included in this survey. The collected data were analyzed using inferential and descriptive statistics to determine whether there is a relationship between social media use and an individual's emotional state. The results of the study showed that there is a moderate relationship between social media use and emotional well-being. It was found that excessive use of social media negatively affects students' emotions, in-cluding increasing anxiety and stress. By providing a platform for meaningful inter-action and social support, well-managed use can enhance emotional health. This study highlights the importance of wise and balanced use of social media to preserve the emo-tional well-being of university students. Recommendations for further research may involve various methods such as interviews and longitudinal studies to gain a deeper understanding of the long-term impacts of social media use on emotional well-being.
